Are you ready?
With just 28 days left until Santa lands on your roof, have you thought about how the next four weeks are going to affect your lifestyle? How the rapidly passing days will dictate your expenditure, your food choices, your activities - even how much sleep and exercise you get.The last 4 weeks before December 25th is when 99% of the gift buying population is out there, filling the malls, spending up big on presents.
I don’t know about you, but I have had enough of having the last few weeks of the year being hijacked by the Big Guy in Red. Santa has a lot to answer for, and I am here to keep him accountable.
I’ve had enough and I’m not going to take it any more.
If you too have had enough of the Santa Season, then it’s time to make some changes. For things to change, I must change, so I am going to make some changes.
What I have learned over the years is that the changes that stick the most are the small changes, the ones that make the least difference right now, but over time make the greatest difference of all. Small changes are the ones that last the longest.
So here is one way you can make a small change right now to the way you experience the Santa Season:
Tip Number 12: Do not buy a gift for anyone who does not live under your roof.
If you can’t handle the idea of not doing anything at all for those not under your roof, then send them a nice card, blank on the inside, with a hand written message.
There are some sample messages at the end of this post.
I’m assuming here that those people who don’t live under your roof will be visited by you before or after Christmas day, so that is when you can give them a heartfelt hug, a quick peck on the cheek, and give them your carefully written card.
They might hand you a gift in return. Accept it graciously, open it if you want to, and remember not to apologise for not buying them a gift. Never, ever apologise for not giving a bought gift. The gift of your genuine heartfelt message on that card means so much more than a store bought item.
Be proud and confident of your gift of love, and remember to not apologise for not buying them anything from a store.

This Christmas it would be
For a world of peace and love
A world free of conflict
A world with no suffering
A world of goodwill and cheer
At this special time of year
Please accept this wish as a token
Of my love
A gift from me to you
So have a peaceful Christmas
And I wish you the very best
In the coming New Year

Merry Christmas
And I wish you the very best
For the coming new year
