I've always loved Christmas, from the very first thought I can remember to right up to today. I love all the excitement and anticipation - not just for the presents, but for the church events and the special time with friend and oh! The food!
The church is my life, and so Christmas is the highlight of my year. It's wonderful to be a part of a big, celebrating group of people, who are all happy and excited too. I don't much like the influence that Santa has, and I am so tired of all the commercials. I really dislike the way my Christian festival is taken over by the presents, when the focus should only be about the birth of Jesus.
In my work as youth pastor I am very careful to remind the kids of the real reason we have Christmas and I work on having them want to re-focus their attention away from the presents and on to the gift of Jesus.
